How does the system handle sample accessioning and tracking?

Samples enter three ways: quick entry for a single requisition, batch entry for grouped work, and scanning for paper requisitions. From there LIMS IQ prints tube, plate, and slide labels in one click, receives inbound shipments at a digital dock, keeps aliquots linked to their parent sample, and flags deficient specimens — leaked, QNS, missing information — so the rest of the batch keeps moving. Do you support bidirectional instrument interfacing?

Yes. Interfaces are vendor-neutral and run both directions: LIMS IQ sends the worklist to the analyzer and parses the file it returns — CSV, XML, or the instrument's own format — importing results and QC flags without re-keying. Supported families include LC-MS/MS (Sciex, Agilent), molecular (QuantStudio, BioFire, Illumina), and chemistry and hematology (Beckman Coulter, Sysmex). See instrument integration.

Can LIMS IQ integrate with my existing EMR/EHR?

Yes, through a configured HL7 v2 connection. LIMS IQ supports systems such as Epic, Cerner, Allscripts, and Practice Fusion, with message definitions and code mappings tailored to each trading partner. Complete mapped ORM orders create requisitions automatically; incomplete orders enter a review queue. Finalized results return as configured ORU messages. What features are available in the Client Portal?

The branded client portal gives ordering practices paperless order entry with compatibility checks, document upload, supply ordering, and electronic signatures — including a pending-signature queue for physicians authorizing many requisitions at once. A tablet-friendly kiosk mode supports collectors at clinics and outreach sites, and clients can open reports at any hour, including trend charts of a patient's results across visits. Is LIMS IQ strictly a cloud-based solution?

Yes. LIMS IQ is cloud-native: there are no on-premise servers to buy and no dedicated IT team to maintain them, and capacity follows the lab's volume rather than its hardware. For the trade-offs between the two models, read cloud LIS vs on-premise.

How does LIMS IQ support billing and revenue operations?

Billing runs inside the LIS as a LIMS IQ capability. Claims are generated from approved requisitions, scrubbed for missing fields and diagnosis-code mismatches before submission, and tracked through payment posting and secondary billing. Is the system adaptable for specialty testing like Molecular or Toxicology?

Yes. Specialty workflows and instrument parsers exist for the disciplines that need them: LC-MS/MS confirmation and medication consistency checking for toxicology, plate-based batch and PCR review for molecular, and cumulative reporting that follows a patient's results across visits.

Can we customize reports and track lab performance?

Yes. Result reports are branded PDFs built from templates the lab controls, with risk flags, historical graphs, and interpretive comments. On the management side, analytics cover turnaround time, sample volume by client or sales representative, and financial measures such as estimated reimbursement and commissions. Both, in one platform.
